September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

President Bush has declared September to be National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. At we will be doing our part to encourage you and the men you love to learn more and talk about this serious disease.

It is estimated that 27,000 husbands, sons, fathers, and brothers will be lost to prostate cancer this year in the United States. Many of these deaths are preventable.

Scientific research shows that men are more likely to survive a prostate cancer diagnosis if their cancer is found early. In addition, regular exercise and healthy eating can decrease the likelihood of this disease. Some men have even changed their diet to eliminate cancer of the prostate.

Some men have increased risk factors for developing prostate cancer:
  • Men over the age of 50
  • African-American men
  • Men with male relatives who had or have prostate cancer
All men should discuss their risk of prostate cancer with their health care professional to determine the best screening and early-detection options. A healthy lifestyle can help prevent and reverse prostate cancer even for those with higher risk factors.

We'll have more information on prostate cancer in our upcoming Man Health Wellness Solutions E-zine. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss an issue.

I recently completed some pages on diverticulitis. This painful condition can be alleviated by avoiding certain offending foods like nuts, seeds, and popcorn. After the crisis is passed it's important to increase dietary fiber to help the colon heal. Learn more at:

New Man-Health-101-for-Women Blog

Welcome to my new blog!

I am asking for input from my dear health ministry friends as I start a new website. "Health" was such a broad topic that I narrowed my focus to a site for women wanting to encourage their mates in a healthier lifestyle. Now I need your help to add value to the site.
I have about 25 pages up and running related to health topics such as Diabetes, Heart Disease, Diet, Exercise, Juicing, etc.

What would you like to see on this kind of site?

Eventually I will have order pages for products and books, but for right now I am focused on building the content so that the major search engines like Google and Yahoo! will find my site and lead people to it.

This blog is also part of that strategy. Apparently the search engines like - so here I am with a link to my site:

Will you go look around and return here to post your feedback and comments.

Feel free to sign up for the Man Health 101 Wellness Solutions Ezine (just be forewarned it hasn't been published yet - but you'll be sure to get the first issue when it comes out)

There are also some links to free reports - those should be available already.

I look forward to hearing from you!
